I think doing a water bottle handout during orientation week is a great way to reduce the amount of plastic bottles and also create a society that is closer as you see many people with the same bottle. This would benefit the environment by reducing the plastic, benefit the economy of the students as the students would be saving money to put into other activities and help create a societal equilibrium that would benefit the program. This would also be a great way to get the IES name out more and more when these students return home and possibly bring in more students to the program.
I also think a terrace garden would be very beneficial to the program. I believe providing students (especially those in an apartment) with some fresh herbs and spices, this would boost heathier eating and more local and organic eating which helps the local farms and economy.
